September Newsletter

  •  We are all staying healthy and safe here at SVCC.  Thanks to all of you for your ongoing support of our health and safety guidelines.  Please remind your children that toys from home cannot come into the Center.  This is a CDC guidance for child care and it is in place because Covid- 19 can live on surfaces up to a full day.
  •          Currently we are not allowing technology in the “Before and After” Program since school started.  School Age children are not allowed to use their phones or tablets when they return from school.
  •         A promotion to announce:  Miss Angie has become SVCCs new  Administrative Assistant.  She will be focusing on social media, grants, fundraising and assisting me throughout the center with daily operations. When we begin to enroll toddlers, we will be hiring a new Toddler Teacher- please join me in congratulating Angela Reese in her new role here at SVCC- the Toddler program will miss her..
  •          Welcoming new staff to our SVCC Family:  Crystal Ferrer- A Floater Assistant Teacher in School Age and PreS/PreK.  She has 7 years experience in child care.  Secondly, welcome Mikaylis Orasio also working in School Age and PreS/PreK as a Floater Aide.  She has years of experience babysitting with children.
  •          Arrival and departure daily is going very well.  Having the doorbell at the side door is helping to alert staff to parents arriving. Thanks to all of you for your patience and cooperation during the arrival/departure times of the day.
  • The SVCC Board of Directors voted in August to not participate in the CACFP Lunch program for the Center.  SVCC will no longer be providing lunches.  Please make sure your child has breakfast (if needed), 2 snacks and lunch daily. We will provide milk and orange juice.
  •   For School Age children, you can send multiple snacks into the Center for us to bag, label and store in the snack cupboard.  We find that some of the   B &A children eat their PM snack at school with lunch and have no afterschool snack. We do not usually have extra snacks for the children.  On days school is closed, please pack a lunch.
  •          SVCC will be contributing Art to the Art Walk Sept 19-Oct 18th at Authority Park ( a park near the pool and water authority)  Our theme is for the children to draw or paint a happy memory from their time at home during the Covid -19 Pandemic.  We will laminate the artwork and hang it in the park.
  •        SVSD is closed on September 28, 2020 for Teacher In- Service.  Care will be available here for the day. Please let us know if your school age child will need full day care.
  •        Thanks to all parents and caregivers who drop off and pick up for all of your feedback.  How is the arrival/pick up process working for families?  Please feel free to give me some input-we want to hear how we are doing!!
  •          SVCC is now enrolling PreS, PreK and School Age children.  Spread the word!  We are building our program one family at a time.
  •          We currently have no information about reopening our Senior Program.  We are doing phone outreach to our Senior members to make sure they are well and to let them know we are thinking about them.
  • Although we don’t get to see one another daily, I am still just a phone call away or an email away.  Feel free to reach out!
