Whether they’re participating in our full- or part-time childcare programs, before or after school care or our unique Early Childhood Development preschool program, each day, children take part in a variety of fun, educational and imaginative activities including indoor and outdoor play, music and art, as well as activities that cultivate early math, reading and language skills. Our professional staff are dedicated to making your child’s first experiences away from home positive and enriching. More than 65 percent of our teachers have a degree in early childhood education or a related field. Small class sizes and low teacher to student ratios ensure that your child receives personal attention in a warm and nurturing environment. Licensed by the state, our childcare programs participate in the prestigious Keystone STARS Child Care Quality Initiative, which recognizes quality early learning facilities for their efforts toward continuous quality improvement.

Admissions

SVCC has programs for toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years, preschoolers ages 3 – 5 years and school age children through age 12. Admission is on a first-come, first-served space-available basis for full-time care. The same is true for part-time care as long as the requested hours/days fit in the overall schedule. If space is not available, families will be placed on a waiting list. Keystone STARS program

Fees

SVCC’s fees are competitive with other center-based childcare providers. Our rates are based on number of hours a day, days per week and the age of your child. There are no hidden fees. The directors will review your individual needs, rates and fees during your tour. A current fee schedule is also available by calling 610-838-0722.

Facility

Our facility is a beautiful converted church in the borough of Hellertown and features four spacious classrooms that allow us to separate the children by age group and provide the most age-appropriate education. Recently, we also constructed a new fenced-in, shaded playground on the campus.

Curricula

Our curricula are based on the most up-to-date practices and are flexible, allowing us to respond to each child’s individual interests and needs. Computers in every classroom offer a jumpstart in learning for students of all ages. All age groups also participate in regular educational field trips.

Staff Credentials

SVCC employs a team of teachers for each different age group of children. New teachers are chosen by a committee of staff and board members and hiring is based on training, education and experience in early childhood development as well as patience, sensitivity and warmth. Our staff continue to grow professionally through participation in workshops and regular in-service training. More than half of our teachers hold degrees in early childhood education or a related field. All are supported in the classroom by specially trained teachers’ assistants.

Security

To help ensure the safety of our children, outside entrances as well as each floor are equipped with the latest security technology.
